Q&A with Monty (Another Weekend Quickie)

Rory at ‘A Guy Called Bloke’ runs a “Weekend Quickie” series which poses a series of questions. I thought, why not give it a try and I’ve been having fun so I’m giving it another go. I also encourage you to check out Rory’s blog for other interesting content and give him a follow.

The 10 Questions from A Guy Called Bloke (& My Answers)

Q1: When was the last time you had a quickie on the weekend, and what was it?

Is this a trick question? I think this is a trick question. Well consider me tricked — the only answer I can think of is that I’m doing a weekend quickie right now in answering these questions (it is what it is).

Q2: Why is chocolate more appealing than…what?

Wow, Rory, these questions are hard? I mean, of course chocolate is more appealing then somethings, but your asking why? I guess I’ll go with why is chocolate more appealing then vanilla since they both come from beans? For that matter, why is coffee more appealing than both chocolate or vanilla? They are all from beans!

Q3: Can you use the word “Debauchery” innocently in a sentence, and if so, how?

Oh Cherie, Cherie don’t play innocent with me;
Bring me all your treasures of debauchery,
Come, my dear Cherie, come together with me.

Wait, what was the question?

Q4: How do you remove grass stains from your knees?

Anyone asking this question has had some fun! Just leave it for 14-days and it will slough off naturally with skin turnover.

Q5: Why is it ill-advised to jog uphill backwards blindfolded with your hands above your head?

Jogging is hard on the knees. As an alternative try swimming downhill (waterfalls are great for this) with your hands tied behind your back. The blindfold is optional.

Q6: What is the best way to deliver bad news?

Personally and directly. The most important thing to do is to communicate clearly. After you’ve delivered the news you can be there to listen and comfort.

Q7: Do you have a scary mind and if so how so?

You can be the judge. Here is the last tweet I sent:

Q8: How much sleep do you get each day, and do you wake up refreshed? If yes, why do you think you do, and if not, why do you think you don’t?

I generally sleep 8-hours from 9pm to 5am. If I follow this pattern then I wake up refreshed and am ready for the best part of the day (I’m very much a morning person). If I don’t get up and lay about in bed I inevitably feel less rested and sluggish. The key for me is to take advantage of the morning. If needed I may take a short nap during the day as well. Sleep is good stuff.

Q9: Tree, Bee, Tee all rhyme with me, so what fruit am I?

A cranberry. A bit tart and an acquired taste but wonderful, Rory.

Q10: Can you list five injuries you could encounter whilst out in the garden please?

Sure. A prick (from a thorn). A blister (from all the hand work). A burn (as in sunburn). A cut (from pruning shears). And death by lightning. It’s a dangerous place.

Bonus Question: Who said “I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley”

I’m torn between The Three Stooges or one of the Leslie Neilson comedies (Airplane or Naked Gun).

Thanks again to Rory for the questions. This was fun. Looking forward to when this series returns in June.

Be well,

Monty

Wonderfully answered Monty .. a Cranberry works also. Swimming down waterfalls with options of blindfolds and hands behind back, wow, if jogging is impactive on the knees, then l feel this would and could be impactive on everything else 🙂

Yes l feel/fear your mind is quite open to dark crevices ….

It was Leslie but not Shirley nor Joy when they all jumped 🙂

Many thanks for the humour my friend 🙂

Haha. I enjoy getting your feedback as much as I enjoy writing my responses. “Dark crevices” — I’m cackling now!
