Tease Me, Please! (2022 NaPoWriMo #20)

With a little digging I found another series of poetry prompts being provided by NaPoWriMo – 30 Poems in 30 Days. I’m starting in the middle and I’ll see how it goes as to whether I work to catch-up with the prior prompts or just carry on forward.

Prompt 20

Write a poem that anthropomorphizes a kind of food.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never done anything like this before – not for food. I like this experiment. I contemplated making the Durian fruit (also known the smelly fruit) the subject of this poem. My wife loves the fruit, but I “ask” her to eat it outside in the garden otherwise the house absolutely reeks. But I settled on something a little more sensual.

Tease Me, Please

Tease me, please. Let’s not rush.
You’re tickling tongue is my deepest need.
I’m left dripping by your warm touch.

Gentle with me, please. Don’t be too rough.
A nibble here. A nibble there. Oh, yes! Right there!
But watch your teeth, they can be too much.

Quickly now, please! There’s no time to waste.
You’ve brought me to my melting point;
At my limit, I can’t hold off this flush!

Ahhh! My sweet-tooth you were really great!
But I’m not one to hang around and cuddle;
I prefer to keep things cool and avoid such mush.
So, I’ll just slip out quietly with a hush.

I don’t know about you, but I’m seriously in the mood for some ice cream now after all that. Haha. Hope you enjoyed.
