The Illustrated Woman

My bold lines highlight the curve of her back
Bent under the sun.

My charcoal shading provides a cool shadow
For her to rest under.

My roughly sketched outline of her almond eyes form wrinkles
As she smiles watching a drafted child quickly running by.

My accidental smudges hint at the years past and their heavy memories.

Her hands are twisted knots, perhaps from age, but mostly just from my lack of skill.

I play with color but settle on grey. She seems to agree.

Be well,

Monty

Did you draw something or is that deliberate blank space?
