我爱你 (I Love You)

我爱你 (“I Love You”)

This is a culmination of my recent work exploring the use of Chinese characters and exploring “found patterns”. 我爱你,meaning “I love you” and pronounced “wo ai ni” in mandarin, are the characterized used in this piece. The squared presentation is reminiscent of the signature chops used in China. I’ve lived and worked as a guest in China for over a decade and am grateful for the experience and opportunity to fully appreciate the culture and language. This is an expression of that appreciation.

Be well,

Monty
