I seem to have written a book. Or at least a draft. It came up on me a bit surprisingly. I was contemplating how this might be the first year since I started writing (during the first covid lockdown) that I wouldn’t publish something. Then I came up with a theme…and a cover…then I culled all the writing I’ve done since my last book and realized I had more than enough content to make the collection work.
The general theme is about the journey of seeking/discovering my faith over the past year. It’s not all on point. There are some times of distraction and diversion, but all part of the process. So far its a collection of poetry and essays. Not much in the way of commentary (although certainly the essays provide more context). Honestly, I’ve no idea if it will work for anyone beyond the audience of one (me). I think I’m ok with that, but also I am wondering whether there is anything that I should do differently this time? Can a ‘journal of my life’ in poetic form be of greater value than a nice reminder to myself?
