Write Verse

The instructions are clear,
A simple escape clause,
An invitation to get figurative,
To dip my toes into unclear waters,
To wet my pen’s tip with half-formed thoughts.

Flurries float down from above, but never land,
Disappearing in one gesture,
Like those thoughts yet firm,
Melting away before they make the page,
Sublimation of my mind.

Nonsense permitted,
I opt out of logic and grammar,
With a simple stroke,
A stork arrives gifting grace,
And my pen dances in the light of the Lord.

Be well,

Monty

  2. Nicely done for nonsense and you caught me out for a moment with this line ..

‘To wet my pen’s tip with half-formed thoughts.”

At first glance against the black backgrounds l didn’t see the word Pen’s but penis and l thought what?

To wet my penis tip with half-formed thoughts.”

    Then l reread!
