May might be here but I’m still working through the NaPoWriMo – 30 Poems in 30 Days prompts since I discovered them late.

Prompt 13

Write a poem on “everything is going to be amazing”

Yeah! Time for some positivity! This prompt reminds me of my “E is for Everything is Great” post last month in my seriously silly poetry series for the A to Z challenge. If you missed it, its definitely worth a look.

Amazing Things

The earth we’re standing upon.
The sky.
The clouds grazing across the horizon.
This ball we call Earth.
Us not spinning off into space
Away from the sun that feeds us warmth
And gives us —
Life.
Our genesis,
Intelligent or not,
From the simplest cells to complex organisms,
We are all amazing things.
I’m in awe of
Our very existence
Our continued persistence
Our optimism, despite resistance, to say
“Everything is going to be amazing”
And because it already is.

There can never be too much positivity (well, at least when it’s authentic), so here I go.
