Oops!

Oh, I must say it’s pretty tricky to title a poem this way;

Rhyming with oops can get one tangled in loops;

Let alone the risk of letting loose an impolite p— oops!

Oh, that was almost an accident in the making;

So sorry, so sorry for my impolite thinking;

But with a title like Oops! I’m jumping through hoops,

Trying to keep this poem free of such toots.

Oops! Oops! There I go again. I’d better stop now while I can.

Be well,

Monty

“Goodnight room

Goodnight moon

Goodnight cow jumping over the moon”

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

Goodnight Moo

a Golden Shovel from Goodnight Moon, Margaret Wise Brown

As a good day turns to goodnight,

And we snuggle together in your bed-room,

We say goodbye to this lovely good-night,

With a lullaby welcoming sleep and the rising moon,

We say goodnight,

You to me and me to you; and to the black and white cow

Jumping

Over

The

Moon

(with a moo).

Love Bug

Please watch your step, please do take care;

There’s love bugs on the ground; Love bugs in the air;

My, oh, my they seem to be everywhere;

Be careful not to squish them; If you do, you’ll really miss them;

Better catch one if you can; Go ahead catch one gently in your hand;

Catch a love bug and cozy up for a loving hug;

You’d be surprised how a bug’s hug could be so snug.

Oh, What a Beautiful Sight!

What do you see when you close your eyes tight?

Do you see sparks and colorful lights?

Do you see dancing kaleidoscope images in the night?

Try it right now (if your sitting down).

Close each eye as tight as you might.

There is a trick to this, that you might miss.

First close your right eye, then your left, then close your mind’s eye, its the only one that’s left.

See there! You’ve done it right.

Oh, what a beautiful sight!

I is for Icky!

I is for icky, like drops from my runny nose hitting my toes.

I is for icky, like the goo under my shoe, so sticky, like glue.

I is for icky, like taking extreme measures to dig out my bellybutton treasures.

I is for icky, like the smell in the loo, so stinky, was it me or you?

I is for icky, like my pus filled pimple spot popping with a plop.

I is for icky, like the cheese between my toes, an unpleasant hue of blue.

I is for icky, I’ve told you about mine. How about you?

I is for icky, like the yellow wax from my ear, a bit smelly I fear.

“He was a good little monkey and always very curious.”

Curious George by H.A. Rey

George, Curious George

My name is George, Curious George, but my friends just call me Curious.

Let’s first address the elephant in the room: I did not, would not, could not ever kill the cat. Go ahead, ask the man with the yellow hat.

In fact, the cat in the hat was a very good friend. I cried when his 9th life came to an end.

So why have I been so unfairly accused? Why claim I’m the blame? Who is so strangely amused?

Well, I’ll find out! I’ll be sure to discover who’s casting blame, undercover.

For they don’t call me Curious for no reason. I’ve got all the questioning skills to expose such treason.

Who, what, where and why. How did the cat really die? Lie if you want. Go ahead, try. But I’ll catch you, I promise. For I’m Curious George – Private Eye.

Be well,

Monty
